Mainframe Developer

Key must-have skillsets include:

–  Five years of mainframe support experience: COBOL, IMS (DB), DB2, CICS, JCL

–  AGILE Methodology (Highly desired)

–  Strong verbal/written communication skills

–  Strong troubleshooting/Analytical Skills

Location – Renton ( Seattle), WA( relocation time of 4 to 8 weeks )

Hybrid model – Initially required to closely work with the existing team for KT

The Role

This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of  Mainframe applications. The development and maintenance activity predominantly uses COBOL, IMS, DB2, and CICS.

“As a Senior Mainframe Engineer, you will work with a talented mainframe team that supports some of the most critical processes within the company for building medium and heavy-duty trucks across North America.

Job Responsibilities

This position will:

• Work with customers to define, design, and propose alternative solutions in response to changing business needs.
• Work with customers to troubleshoot reported issues.
• Provide system administration support.
• Must be able and willing to work weekends and evenings to support on-call responsibilities as needed is required.

Required Experience & Skills

• Five years of software engineering experience including code development, scripting, workflow, and data mapping.
• Five years of mainframe support experience: COBOL, IMS (DB), DB2, CICS, JCL
• Advanced computer system skills including the use of word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
• Strong verbal/written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
  Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills

Education (List required and/or preferred education)

• A four-year degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is desired.
