Department – Real Estate Due Diligence Services- Contour
Reports To – Director of Natural Resources
Overview
The primary responsibilities include managing and completing projects within the Natural Resources
Practice Area. This includes completing Federal Nationwide Permits (NWPs) and Standard Individual
Permits (IPs) as regulated under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (CWA), ArcGIS Mapping, Federal
Jurisdictional Determinations, Local Issuing Authority verifications, and sediment loading assessments.
Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) review of technical reports. Provide technical
guidance, training and mentorship to junior team members.
Essential Job Functions
- Write professional / technical reports.
- QA/QC review of Natural Resource Related reports.
- Assist with technical proposal preparation.
- Provide technical advice and contribute to the development of conclusions and recommendations for
assigned projects. - Develop and maintain department databases and informational resources.
- Develop and maintain report templates to meet the requirements of industry protocols.
- Provide mentorship and training of team members.
- Remain up to date on industry practices and protocols.
- Coordinate completion of client report revisions.
- Represent Natural Resource Services to the client in a professional manner.
- Perform other consulting project duties as assigned.
Required Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, related environmental/engineering field,
or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Abilities
- A minimum of five years of experience performing Aquatic Resource Delineations.
- Thorough knowledge of ArcGIS and AutoCAD software.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with co-workers, clients, and subcontractors.
- Ability to meet deadlines, both internally and externally.
- Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities.
- Independently problem-solve and work autonomously with a sense of urgency.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages (Microsoft Office and Adobe).
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint preferred.
Physical Demands, Overtime, Language and Writing Skills, and Travel Requirements
Physical Demands – Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch,
talk, and hear. The position requires the ability to speak, write, and communicate clearly. Employees may lift
and move up to 50 pounds.
Overtime – This position is salaried with exempt FLSA status. Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m., Monday through Friday, with one hour for lunch. There will be periods where overtime will be
required, which the employee will need to comply with in order to meet the demands of the position.
Language and Writing Skills – Must have ability to read, analyze, and understand information and ideas
presented in writing. Able to respond written or verbally to job-specific and general inquiries from
management, peers, subordinates, clients, and external vendors. Must be able to produce and disseminate
correspondence (i.e. emails, letters, etc.) as requested.
Travel Requirements – 20% or more.
