Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the Company:

Our client is an early-stage, high-growth Fintech and Blockchain startup revolutionizing digital asset infrastructure and next-gen financial services. Backed by top-tier investors, the company is building secure, scalable, and user-first solutions in the DeFi, payments, and tokenization space.

As they scale operations, they are seeking a strategic and hands-on CFO to lead financial planning, capital strategy, and risk management across a global, fast-evolving business model.

Role Overview:

The CFO will be a critical member of the executive team, reporting directly to the CEO. You will be responsible for leading the company’s financial operations, investor relations, compliance with digital asset regulations, and preparing the company for future funding rounds or potential IPO.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Financial Leadership
  • Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Advise CEO and executive team on financial implications of business decisions
  • Shape company growth strategy through capital structure and fundraising planning
• Fundraising & Investor Relations
  • Partner with CEO and board on Series A/B/C fundraising and investor outreach
  • Oversee financial due diligence, data room management, and board reporting
• Blockchain/Fintech Compliance & Controls
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with SEC, IRS, FinCEN, and crypto-specific laws (e.g., KYC/AML, stablecoin regs)
  • Oversee crypto asset management, treasury, token economics, and risk strategy
• Financial Operations
  • Build and scale FP&A, accounting, payroll, crypto treasury systems, and internal controls
  • Evaluate and implement financial tools and infrastructure for digital and fiat operations
  • Lead audits, tax planning, and financial reporting functions
• Team & Culture
  • Build and mentor a lean but high-performance finance team
  • Drive a data-driven, transparent, and mission-aligned finance culture

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, preferably in VC-backed startups or high-growth fintech/crypto environments
• Prior experience as CFO, VP Finance, or Head of FP&A
• Strong understanding of blockchain technologies, tokenomics, crypto compliance, and digital asset regulation
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, board communication, and investor relations
• CPA or CFA preferred; MBA or advanced finance education a plus
• Experience working in remote-first, international startup settings is ideal
