About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and creative AI Chatbot Engineer to build and optimize intelligent conversational agents across digital platforms. This role involves designing natural, context-aware chatbot experiences powered by LLMs, NLU/NLP models, and dialog systems that deliver value across customer-facing and internal applications.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and data scientists to integrate the latest advancements in Generative AI, Large Language Models, and conversational frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered chatbots for web, mobile, or messaging platforms

  • Build and fine-tune natural language understanding (NLU) pipelines for intent classification, entity recognition, and dialog flow

  • Integrate with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere) or fine-tune open-source models (e.g., LLaMA, Mistral, Falcon)

  • Create context-aware dialogue flows using Rasa, Dialogflow, BotPress, or custom frameworks

  • Implement conversation memory, embeddings, and vector search to enhance personalization and accuracy

  • Analyze and improve chatbot performance using metri    cs such as F1-score, retention, and deflection rate

  • Work closely with back-end engineers to integrate chatbots with internal tools, CRMs, and external APIs

  • Stay up to date with trends in LLMs, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and multimodal chatbots


Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–7 years of software engineering experience, with at least 1–2 years in NLP or chatbot development

  • Strong Python skills; familiarity with LangChain, Rasa, FastAPI, Flask, or equivalent

  • Experience with LLMs, OpenAI APIs, Hugging Face Transformers, or similar libraries

  • Knowledge of vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS)

  • Experience with NLU tools like SpaCy, Dialogflow, Wit.ai, or custom NLP pipelines

  • Comfortable with REST APIs, WebSockets, and asynchronous programming

  • Familiarity with version control, CI/CD, and cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with voice assistants (e.g., Alexa Skills, Google Assistant)

  • Knowledge of Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) or prompt engineering

  • UI/UX design familiarity for chatbot interactions

  • Contributions to open-source NLP/chatbot tools
